By Edoko Wilson Edoko

As Hon. Engr. Gabriel Iduseri (Gabros) prepares to assume office as Chairman of Oredo Local Government Area, expectations are mounting over his ability to translate his campaign promises into tangible development for residents.

Adding to the growing confidence in the Chairman-elect, the Benin Recreation Club (BRC) Inter-Club Relations and Affiliation Committee has expressed optimism that Iduseri’s administration will usher in a new era of responsive governance, improved infrastructure and people-centred leadership.

In a congratulatory message, the committee’s Chairman, Olorogun Peters Jaboro, described Iduseri’s victory in the July 11 local government election as a reflection of the trust and confidence reposed in him by the electorate.

Jaboro noted that the mandate given to the Chairman-elect comes with enormous responsibility, urging him to build an administration anchored on transparency, accountability, inclusiveness and service to the people.

He expressed confidence that Iduseri’s leadership experience, integrity and commitment to excellence would position him to address critical issues affecting Oredo Local Government, particularly in the areas of education, environmental sanitation, primary healthcare, road maintenance, youth empowerment, market development, community engagement, security and sustainable economic growth.

Jaboro said the outcome of the election had created a fresh opportunity to reposition Oredo Local Government through visionary leadership, effective service delivery and policies that directly impact the lives of residents.

“The people have spoken through the ballot, and they now expect results. This is the time to build an efficient, transparent and accountable local government that is responsive to the needs of the people. Oredo has enormous potential, and we believe Hon. Gabriel Iduseri has the capacity to harness that potential for the benefit of every community,” Jaboro said.

Jaboro added that history would judge the new administration not by the margin of its electoral victory but by the quality of governance it delivers, expressing confidence that Iduseri has the experience and leadership qualities to leave a lasting legacy in Oredo Local Government Area.

According to the Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC), Iduseri, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), secured 262,573 votes to emerge winner of the chairmanship election, defeating candidates of other political parties.

With the election concluded, attention is now shifting from campaigns to governance, as residents expect the incoming administration to deliver on its promises and complement the developmental agenda of Governor Monday Okpebholo at the grassroots.

The committee also wished Iduseri a successful tenure, assuring him of its goodwill and expressing hope that his administration would leave a lasting legacy of development, effective service delivery and inclusive governance in Oredo Local Government Area.

The Edo State Independent Electoral Commission conducted local government elections across the state’s 18 council areas on July 11, with the successful candidates expected to be inaugurated in the coming weeks.
