“ENOUGH IS ENOUGH”: AAU VC PROF. EUNICE OMONZEJIE FIGHTS BACK TO DEFEND HER STERLING REPUTATION AND LEGACY OF SERVICE

Silence in the face of lies ends TODAY.

Vice Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma, Professor Eunice Omonzejie, has drawn the line and is fighting back with the full force of the law to protect her hard-earned image, honor, and three decades of distinguished service to education.

In a formal legal demand issued by her solicitors, S.O. AGWINEDE & CO., addressed to Bob-manuel Omobumhe Umoru, the publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Edo State, the VC has called out what her legal team described as “false, defamatory and malicious publications” targeted at her person and office.

Her demands are clear and non-negotiable:
1. Immediate retraction of all defamatory publications.
2. A public apology published in two national dailies and on the same platforms where the lies were circulated.
3. A written undertaking to cease all further defamatory attacks against her person and office.
4. Payment of aggravated damages in the sum of One Billion Naira (₦1,000,000,000.00) for the injury to her reputation.

The legal notice is explicit: failure to comply within the stipulated time will attract full legal action to recover the said damages and other reliefs.

This is bigger than one woman. This is about defending truth, dignity, and the integrity of leadership.

For over 30 years, Professor Omonzejie has built a name rooted in discipline, scholarship, transparency, and compassion. From the classroom to the Vice Chancellor’s office, her journey has been defined by merit and service to humanity.

Since assuming office, she has led with vision and courage. Her administration is credited with major infrastructural upgrades, improved staff welfare, student-centered reforms, and a renewed culture of accountability that has earned her respect across the academic community and beyond.

“You cannot destroy in a day what integrity has built in three decades,” said a senior member of staff. “This attack is not on VC Omonzejie alone. It is an attack on excellence and on every leader who chooses to do the right thing.”

Across campuses, alumni groups, and civil society, voices have risen in solidarity. Students call her “a mother who fights for us.” Colleagues call her “a leader who leads by example.”

While detractors trade in rumors, Professor Omonzejie remains laser-focused on her mandate: to deliver quality education, uphold due process, and leave the institution better than she met it.

Her message to purveyors of falsehood is loud and final: RETRACT. APOLOGIZE. STOP. OR FACE THE LAW.
