Edo State Commissioner Urges Citizens to Join APC as Nationwide E-Membership Registration Kicks Off

Edo, Nigeria – January 7, 2026 – The Edo State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Sir Dr. Lucky Eseigbe Esq., who is also a hopeful for the House of Representatives, has called on the people of Edo State and Nigerians at large to join the All Progressives Congress (APC), emphasizing the party’s commitment to progressive governance and national development.

Speaking in a statement, Dr. Eseigbe highlighted the ongoing nationwide E-Membership Registration Exercise by the APC, which officially commenced on January 5, 2026. The exercise is taking place across all wards in Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), aiming to modernize membership processes and strengthen citizen engagement.

The APC has outlined that the registration process will be conducted at respective ward levels, providing an opportunity for both existing and prospective members to participate. Existing party members are required to validate their membership online, while new members and those intending to join the party are encouraged to register officially, thereby becoming part of the progressive family.

To facilitate registration, participants are required to present their Voter Identification Number (VIN) and National Identification Number (NIN). The party has urged individuals who do not yet possess a NIN to obtain one ahead of the exercise to ensure seamless registration.

Dr. Eseigbe emphasized that the APC remains committed to promoting inclusive political participation and fostering policies that prioritize the welfare and progress of all Nigerians. “This is an opportunity for citizens to actively engage with a party dedicated to progress and national development,” he said.

The APC’s digital membership initiative reflects a broader global trend of leveraging technology to enhance transparency, streamline administrative processes, and foster greater citizen involvement in political parties. Analysts suggest that this approach could significantly strengthen party structures and enhance grassroots mobilization ahead of forthcoming elections.

With the registration exercise now underway, political observers expect an active engagement from Nigerians across all walks of life, reflecting the nation’s evolving democratic landscape.
