DJ Association Honours Edo Commissioner Lucky Eseigbe with Award of Excellence

Iruekpen, Edo State — January 2, 2026

The DJ Association of Nigeria, Ekpoma Branch, has conferred an Award of Excellence on the Edo State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Sir Dr. Lucky Eseigbe Esq., in recognition of his outstanding contributions to humanity, grassroots development, and community leadership.

The award presentation took place at the commissioner’s country home in Iruekpen, Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State, on Thursday, January 2, 2026.

Presenting the award, the leadership of the association described Sir Dr. Eseigbe as a dedicated public servant whose commitment to community development, particularly at the grassroots level, has positively impacted lives across Esan land. The association also noted that the honour reflects its solidarity and support for his political aspirations, including his bid for the House of Representatives.

Speaking during the presentation, the Coordinator of the DJ Association, Ekpoma Zone, Mr. Emmanuel Ukhuakhua, commended the commissioner for his visible developmental efforts.

“We are here to present an Award of Excellence to one of our patrons, Sir Dr. Lucky Eseigbe Esq. We have witnessed the series of good works he has been doing across Esan land, especially in Esan West Local Government Area. He is a very good man, and this award is our way of encouraging him to do even more for the people,” Ukhuakhua said.

Also speaking, Mr. Joe-King Aigbomian, a member of the association, said the award was in recognition of Sir Dr. Eseigbe’s contributions to humanity and grassroots development beyond Esan West.

“This award is given for his service to mankind and community development. It is meant to encourage him to continue his good works for society,” he stated.

In his acceptance speech, Sir Dr. Lucky Eseigbe expressed profound gratitude to the association for the honour and the confidence reposed in him. He described the recognition as both humbling and motivating.

“I sincerely thank the DJ Association for this pleasant surprise. Receiving this award on January 2, a day our people in Iruekpen celebrate the New Year festival, makes it even more special. I was truly surprised when they walked into my residence with this award,” he said.

The commissioner further acknowledged that many individuals in Esan West Local Government are making meaningful contributions to development, adding that the recognition has strengthened his resolve to do more.

“There are many people doing great work in our local government, and I truly appreciate the association for singling me out for this honour. I am grateful and remain committed to service to humanity and grassroots development,” he added.

The event was attended by members of the DJ Association and community stakeholders, marking a moment of celebration and reaffirmation of the commissioner’s role in community development across Edo State.
