Comrade Pedro Esangbedo Commends Eseigbe, Ikpea, Ayemere on Igueben Needs Assessment Initiative

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Igueben Local Government Area of Edo State and former Vice Chairman of the APC Edo Central Senatorial District, Comrade Pedro Esangbedo JP, who is also the representative of Senator Joseph Igiagbe Ikpea in Igueben and participated in the ongoing needs assessment programme, has described the grassroots needs assessment and interactive engagement being undertaken by Senator Joseph Igiagbe Ikpea, Sir Lucky Eseigbe Esq., and Engr. Obehi Ayemere as a welcome development and a great initiative capable of promoting purposeful representation and people-oriented development.

Esangbedo stated this while speaking with journalists during the needs assessment and interactive engagement visit to communities across Igueben Local Government Area, where the team engaged residents directly to listen to their concerns and identify their most pressing developmental needs. He said the initiative was particularly important because it provides an opportunity for the people to speak directly about the challenges confronting their communities, while those seeking to represent them can obtain first-hand information before setting priorities.

According to him, rather than relying on assumptions or making decisions without adequate consultation, the needs assessment allows the people to clearly identify their priorities, thereby helping to avoid misplaced priorities and ensuring that interventions are directed towards areas where they are most needed. He noted that the exercise represents a practical approach to understanding the realities of the people and developing responses based on their actual needs.

The APC chieftain assured the people of Igueben of purposeful representation when Senator Joseph Igiagbe Ikpea, representing Edo Central Senatorial District, Sir Lucky Eseigbe Esq., APC candidate for the Esan Central, Esan West and Igueben Federal Constituency, and Engr. Obehi Ayemere, APC candidate for the Edo State House of Assembly, emerge victorious in their respective elections.

Esangbedo described the needs assessment initiative as the first of its kind in Igueben, noting that the decision to go directly into the various wards and communities to listen to the people demonstrates a commitment to understanding their realities. He said the issues raised during the engagements had been duly noted, assuring that they would be carefully considered and addressed one after another, according to their importance and available opportunities.

He also commended the people of Igueben for their impressive turnout across the various wards, describing their participation as a clear indication of their willingness to engage with those seeking to represent them and contribute their voices to the development of their communities. He urged the people to sustain the spirit of constructive engagement, stressing that meaningful representation begins with listening to the people, understanding their challenges and working with them towards practical solutions.

Esangbedo expressed confidence that the ongoing exercise would provide a useful roadmap for identifying and addressing critical developmental needs across Igueben Local Government Area, while also strengthening the relationship between the people and those aspiring to represent them at the various levels of government.
