Senator Joseph Igiagbe Ikpea, Senator representing Edo Central Senatorial District, has charged APC Unit Chairmen, Women Leaders and Youth Leaders in Ward 6, Esan Central Local Government Area, to remain committed to the party and sustain their support for the administration of Governor Monday Okpebholo ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The message was delivered by ESV Amb. Tony Okonigene, Special Adviser to Senator Joseph Igiagbe Ikpea on Political Matters, during an engagement with the Ward 6 APC grassroots leaders at Usugbenu on Sunday.
Speaking on behalf of Senator Ikpea, Okonigene urged the Unit Chairmen, Women Leaders and Youth Leaders to remain loyal to the APC and strengthen the party at the grassroots through unity, commitment and effective mobilisation. He stressed the importance of their respective roles in building a strong party structure capable of delivering Governor Okpebholo and all APC candidates in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
He encouraged the Ward 6 leaders to take ownership of the party’s grassroots mobilisation efforts, maintain close contact with their respective units and continue to work collectively in support of the APC’s leadership and programmes.
Responding, the Ward 6 APC leaders expressed appreciation to Senator Ikpea and Amb. Tony Okonigene for recognising their contributions and engaging directly with the grassroots leadership. They described the meeting as a significant demonstration of inclusion, noting that it was the first time, according to them, that a political leader had formally recognised and engaged them in such a manner.
The Unit Chairmen, Women Leaders and Youth Leaders subsequently pledged their total and continued support for the APC, assuring Senator Ikpea, through Okonigene, of their commitment to supporting Governor Okpebholo and working collectively to deliver all APC candidates—from the President to the Senate, House of Representatives and House of Assembly—in the 2027 elections.
The engagement further reinforced the importance of the ward and unit structures in the APC’s grassroots mobilisation efforts, with the Ward 6 leaders reaffirming their readiness to remain active participants in strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 electoral season.
