The campaign structure of the Distinguished Senator representing Edo Central Senatorial District, Senator Joseph Igiagbe Ikpea, has received a major boost with the inauguration of a 26-member Advisory Committee and grassroots campaign coordinators across the five Local Government Areas of the Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration, which took place in Ewatto, Senator Ikpea’s hometown, brought together prominent political leaders, party stakeholders, women leaders, ward leaders, grassroots mobilisers, Executive Local Government Chairmen, Councillors and other stakeholders from across Edo Central.
At the centre of the newly inaugurated advisory structure are two seasoned political veterans and former members of the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Patrick Ikhariale PhD and Rt. Hon. Friday Itulah, whose legislative and grassroots experience is expected to provide strategic guidance and direction to the campaign organisation.
Rt. Hon. Patrick Ikhariale PhD, a former two-term Member of the House of Representatives who represented the Esan Central, Esan West and Igueben Federal Constituency, was inaugurated as Chairman of the Advisory Committee.
Also serving on the committee as vice chairman is Rt. Hon. Friday Itulah, a former two-term Member of the House of Representatives representing the Esan North East and Esan South East Federal Constituency.
Other members of the 26-member Advisory Committee include Hon. Andrew Akhabue, Barr. Idiakhua Victor, Hon. Omi Imosili, Elder Sam Ebiogbe, Rt. Hon. Victor Edoroh, Clifford Inegbedion, Hon. Godday Eronmosele, Kingsley Ohens, Amb. Julius Aluebhosele (Oba), Robison Unabor, Hon. Esther Eghaghe, Mrs. Tessy Atagamhen, Mary J. Okojie, Pastor Isi, Dr. Pascal Ebhomimen, Hon. Mike Ogwu, Joel Aidamebor, Chief John Odijie, Amb. Tony Okonigene, Dr. Augusta Enaholo, Hon. Zubarous Edeghoghon, Hon. Donald Ebhoze, Hon. Isaac Irisoh, and Hon. Prosper Iyere.
The composition of the committee brings together considerable political, legislative and grassroots experience, with members expected to provide strategic counsel while strengthening coordination and mobilisation across the Senatorial District.
The campaign organisation also inaugurated Local Government Coordinators for the five Local Government Areas of Edo Central.
In Esan West, the coordinators are Hon. Monday Abulu and Hon. Innocent Alegbe.
For Esan Central, the coordinators are Evang. Adekunle Oboh and Hon. Peter Oboh, while Esan North East has Hon. Emmanuel Okoduwa and Collins Agbonkhese as coordinators.
In Esan South East, Hon. Andrew Ojiemenkele and Hon. Mike Eramenzele were appointed, while Igueben is represented by Amb. Pedro Esangbedo and Matthew Ihensekhien.
The campaign structure also extends beyond the Local Government Areas, with the organisation constituting coordinators at the ward and polling-unit levels, creating a comprehensive grassroots network designed to maintain direct contact with communities across Edo Central.
Addressing the gathering, Senator Joseph Igiagbe Ikpea emphasised the importance of grassroots engagement, unity, accessibility and effective communication in building a campaign that remains connected to the people.
He charged the newly inaugurated coordinators and members of the campaign structure to work collectively and ensure that the message of the campaign reaches every ward, community and polling unit across the Senatorial District.
Senator Ikpea further reaffirmed his commitment to the development, progress and wellbeing of the people of Edo Central, stressing the need for a campaign organisation founded on unity, service, effective representation and genuine connection with the grassroots.
The Senator’s emphasis on grassroots mobilisation comes as the campaign organisation begins to establish a structured presence across the five Local Government Areas, with coordinators expected to engage directly with the people, understand their concerns and communicate the Senator’s vision and legislative agenda.
In a show of commitment to the task ahead, the newly inaugurated coordinators unanimously agreed to take the campaign to the grassroots, pledging to mobilise effectively across their respective Local Government Areas, wards and polling units.
The inauguration therefore marks a significant step in the consolidation of Senator Ikpea’s campaign structure ahead of the 2027 elections, bringing together experienced political leaders and grassroots coordinators in a coordinated effort to deepen engagement with the people of Edo Central Senatorial District.
