Representing the donor, the Chairman of Esan West Local Government Area, Hon. Blessing Ebhodaghe, disclosed that the intervention followed an assessment of operational gaps within the Iruekpen Division—particularly the lack of functional patrol vehicles. He noted that upon being briefed, Sir Lucky Eseigbe responded promptly, demonstrating what he described as “practical leadership and a proactive approach to community security.”

Ebhodaghe commended the donor’s contribution as complementary to ongoing state-led security efforts, aligning it with broader initiatives by the Edo State Government to curb criminal activity. He urged officers of the division to deploy the vehicle strictly for operational purposes, emphasizing accountability and efficiency in its use.

Receiving the vehicle on behalf of the Edo State Commissioner of Police, CP Monday Agbonika, fdc, the Divisional Operations Officer, ASP Innocent Ikamanda, expressed appreciation for the timely intervention. He described the donation as a critical logistical boost that would enhance patrol capacity, rapid response, and overall operational effectiveness within Iruekpen and adjoining communities.

ASP Ikamanda further assured residents that the command remains committed to maximizing available resources to restore and sustain peace across Esan West and the wider Esan region. He also acknowledged the continued support of the Edo State Government in strengthening law enforcement capabilities.

Adding a political perspective, Secretary of the Eseigbe Campaign Organization, Mr. Joseph Azemobor, characterized the donation as reflective of Sir Lucky Eseigbe’s forward-looking leadership philosophy and responsiveness to community needs. He noted that the intervention goes beyond political signaling, representing a tangible investment in public safety and social stability.

The ceremony culminated in the formal transfer of the patrol vehicle to the Nigeria Police Force, symbolizing a collaborative effort between political actors, local government leadership, and security institutions in addressing insecurity at the grassroots level.
