Gov Okpebholo Leads APC Delegation on Condolence Visit to Okao of Ologbo

OLOGBO, EDO STATE — April 24, 2026 — Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, on Friday led a high-level delegation of government officials and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on a condolence visit to the Okao of Ologbo, Chief Emmanuel Iyase, following the passing of his wife, Mrs. Mandaline Iyase.

The visit brought together key figures within the state’s political leadership and was marked by solemn expressions of sympathy and solidarity with the bereaved family.

Speaking during the visit, Governor Okpebholo said he was accompanied by the local government chairman and other party stakeholders to personally commiserate with Chief Iyase over the loss. He acknowledged the pain of bereavement while urging the family to remain resilient.

“It is a painful loss, but one that must be borne with strength. I believe God will grant you the fortitude to endure this difficult time,” the governor said.

He further encouraged the family to remain focused and avoid being overwhelmed by grief, noting the importance of emotional and physical well-being in periods of loss.

Responding on behalf of the family, Chief Iyase, who also serves as the APC Chairman of Egor Local Government Area, expressed profound appreciation for the governor’s presence and support. He described the visit as a significant gesture of empathy and leadership.

A family representative noted that the governor’s personal visit stood out as an uncommon act, emphasizing that it would remain a lasting and meaningful memory for the family.

The delegation included the Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa; the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq.; the APC State Chairman, Jarrett Tenebe; and the APC State Secretary, Engr. Lawrence Okah, among other dignitaries.

The visit underscored the administration’s commitment to standing with party members and community leaders during moments of personal loss and grief.
