5,000 Students to Benefit as Prince Odi Okojie Sponsors Free JAMB Registration in Esan Communities

In a significant boost to educational access and youth development, Honourable Prince Odianosen Henry Okojie has announced the sponsorship of a free Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) registration exercise for 5,000 students across Esan North East and Esan South East in Edo State.

The initiative, which forms part of the lawmaker’s sustained commitment to empowering young people through education, is designed to reduce financial barriers that often prevent qualified students from pursuing tertiary education. By fully covering the cost of JAMB registration, the programme seeks to expand access to higher education and prepare young people for future leadership and productive citizenship.

The registration exercise is scheduled to run from February 2 to February 14, 2026, with multiple registration centres established across communities within the Esan axis to ensure ease of access for prospective beneficiaries.

Registration will be conducted at the Constituency Office located at No. 10 Ubiaja Road, opposite Oando Filling Station in Uromi, serving students from Uromi and Uzea between February 2 and 7. Students from Esan South East, including Ubiaja, Oria and surrounding communities, will be attended to at the APC Secretariat in Ubiaja from February 9 to 11. The exercise will continue on February 12 at the Mobile Filling Station in Ewohimi for candidates from Ewatto and Ewohimi, on February 13 at No. 2 Akhiomhen Street, Usolo Emu for Emu and Ohordua, and conclude on February 14 at Adava Primary School in Ugboha.

Daily registration activities will commence at 8:00 a.m., and all applicants are required to present their mobile phones and National Identification Number (NIN) for verification and processing.

The initiative has been widely described by community stakeholders as timely and impactful, particularly in light of the rising cost of examination registration and its effect on families. The programme is expected to ease financial pressure on parents and guardians while encouraging increased participation in tertiary education.

The free JAMB registration exercise further underscores Honourable Okojie’s emphasis on education as a critical tool for human capital development and sustainable progress within Esan communities. Members of the public have been urged to help disseminate the information widely to ensure that eligible students are fully informed and able to benefit from the opportunity.
