The senator commended the ongoing efforts of the Federal Government and relevant security and law enforcement agencies in tackling drug-related crimes and strengthening measures aimed at safeguarding communities across the country.

According to him, the protection and development of young people must remain a national priority, noting that Nigeria’s future prosperity depends largely on the ability of its youth population to harness available opportunities for growth and self-development.

“Young people remain the greatest asset of any nation. They possess the energy, creativity, and determination required to drive economic growth and social progress. It is therefore important that we continue to create pathways that enable them to excel and contribute positively to society,” Senator Ikpea stated.

He emphasized that education, entrepreneurship, skills acquisition, digital innovation, agriculture, and vocational training remain critical tools for unlocking the immense potential of Nigerian youths and preparing them for future opportunities.

Senator Ikpea further reaffirmed the commitment of the Senate Committee on Drugs and Narcotics to supporting legislative initiatives and stakeholder partnerships aimed at reducing drug abuse, strengthening rehabilitation programmes, and promoting public awareness on the dangers associated with narcotics.

The Edo Central lawmaker noted that sustained enlightenment campaigns and community engagement would play a significant role in discouraging substance abuse while encouraging positive values among young people.

He urged youths across Edo Central Senatorial District and the nation at large to remain focused, law-abiding, and committed to pursuing their aspirations through legitimate and productive means.

Senator Ikpea also expressed confidence in the ongoing efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to create opportunities for young Nigerians through various economic, educational, and empowerment initiatives designed to enhance national growth and development.

“As leaders, our responsibility is to continue creating an environment where young people can thrive, develop their talents, and realize their full potential. Together, we can build a safer, stronger, and more prosperous Nigeria for present and future generations,” he added.

The senator assured constituents of his continued dedication to quality representation, youth-focused initiatives, community development, and policies that promote the wellbeing and progress of the people of Edo Central Senatorial District.

Residents and stakeholders who spoke after the interaction commended Senator Ikpea’s commitment to youth development, public enlightenment, and his advocacy for a drug-free society, expressing confidence in his continued efforts to advance the interests of his constituents and the nation.
