Archbishop Dr. A. E. Okosun, JP, has formally resigned his membership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), bringing an end to his longstanding association with the party.

In a resignation letter dated June 3, 2026, and addressed to the Chairman of the PDP, Unit 6, Ward 11, Idumoza, Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State, Archbishop Okosun conveyed his decision to leave the party, citing personal reasons for his departure.
The respected cleric expressed appreciation to the party leadership and members for the opportunities and privileges extended to him during his years of service within the PDP.
According to the letter, Archbishop Okosun acknowledged the cordial working relationship he enjoyed with party leaders and members throughout his time in the organization, describing the experience as worthwhile and memorable.
He further requested that his resignation be formally acknowledged and that his name be removed from the party’s membership register.
“I am very grateful to the party and all the leaders for all the privileges and opportunities granted me here to serve as a member; and I am also grateful to all those with whom I worked. It was wonderful, while it lasted,” the letter stated.
Copies of the resignation letter were also forwarded to the PDP Chairman of Ward 11, Uromi, and the PDP Local Government Chairman in Esan North East Local Government Area.
The resignation takes immediate effect, marking the conclusion of Archbishop Okosun’s active membership in the People’s Democratic Party.
