Eseigbe Condemns Ekpoma Killings, Calls for Measured but Urgent Security Response

Ekpoma, Edo State — Sir Lucky Eseigbe Esq., a House of Representatives hopeful for Esan Central, Esan West, and Igueben Federal Constituency, has strongly condemned the recent killings in Ekpoma, describing the incident as senseless, unprovoked, and entirely unacceptable, while urging a calm but decisive response to restore peace and reinforce public safety.

In a statement issued on Monday, Eseigbe expressed deep concern over the tragic loss of innocent lives, noting that such incidents pose a serious challenge to the long-standing peace and stability of the community. He emphasized that while the situation is deeply troubling, it requires a coordinated and strategic approach from both authorities and residents to prevent further escalation.

“As a son of the soil, I am profoundly saddened by this unfortunate development,” he stated. “The sanctity of human life must remain paramount, and every necessary step should be taken to ensure that such incidents do not recur in our communities.”

He called on relevant security agencies to intensify their presence and operational effectiveness within Ekpoma and its environs, stressing the importance of proactive intelligence gathering, timely response mechanisms, and sustained engagement with local communities. According to him, ensuring that those responsible are identified and brought to justice remains critical in strengthening public confidence and deterring future occurrences.

Eseigbe also acknowledged ongoing efforts by the Edo State Government under Governor Monday Okpebholo to address security concerns, noting that such efforts are vital and should continue to be supported and strengthened through collaboration and shared responsibility.
