The All Progressives Congress (APC) has approved an extension of the timelines for the sale and submission of nomination forms ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
The decision was reached during a meeting of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) held at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja. The extension affects both the purchase of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms, as well as the deadline for submitting completed documentation by aspirants seeking elective offices under the party’s platform.
Briefing journalists after the meeting, the APC Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Durosinmi Meseko, announced that the sale of forms will now close at midnight on Monday, May 4, 2026. He further disclosed that the submission of completed forms, along with all required supporting documents, has been extended to midnight on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
Prior to this adjustment, the sale of forms was scheduled to end on May 2, 2026, while the submission deadline was fixed for May 4, 2026. The revised timetable provides additional time for prospective candidates to complete necessary procedures in line with the party’s electoral guidelines.
According to Meseko, the extension was necessitated by the nationwide public holiday observed on Friday, which affected administrative processes, as well as the significant level of participation from aspirants across various constituencies.
The APC maintains that the revised schedule is designed to ensure inclusivity and administrative efficiency as preparations intensify toward the 2027 electoral cycle.
The development marks a key procedural adjustment in the party’s nomination process, reinforcing its ongoing internal coordination efforts ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
