The Edo State Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. (Dr.) Felix Ehiguese Akhabue, has dismissed as entirely false a viral social media report alleging a confrontation between him and the Edo State All Progressives Congress (APC) Vice Chairman, Hon. Amb. Sylvester Aigboboh.
In an official disclaimer issued through his Media Director, Comrade Jude Isibor, the Commissioner described the publication as fictitious, misleading, and a calculated attempt to create disaffection between two key political figures in the state.
According to the statement, there was no incident of conflict or disagreement between Hon. Akhabue and Hon. Aigboboh, emphasizing that both leaders maintain a cordial and cooperative relationship anchored on shared political goals and mutual respect.
The Commissioner noted that the narrative being circulated is driven by falsehood and ill intent, aimed at undermining the unity and strategic collaboration required to advance the developmental agenda of the current administration led by Governor Monday Okpebholo.
Reaffirming their commitment to governance and service delivery, the statement stressed that both leaders remain focused on supporting the administration’s policy direction and fulfilling campaign promises made to the people of Edo State under the SHINE Agenda.
Hon. Akhabue further urged individuals and groups responsible for spreading unverified information to desist from such actions, calling instead for constructive engagement that contributes positively to the growth and stability of the state.
He also appealed to the public to disregard the publication in its entirety, describing it as baseless and devoid of credibility.
The statement additionally confirmed that Hon. (Dr.) Felix Ehiguese Akhabue has formally assumed office as the Honourable Commissioner at the Edo State Ministry of Water Resources and has commenced official duties in line with his mandate.
