He noted that discussions with EU officials centered on critical areas such as climate-smart agriculture, improved access to funding, mechanization, and value chain development, stressing that these initiatives hold significant potential for farmers and agribusiness stakeholders within Edo Central.

“I am particularly focused on ensuring that Edo Central is not left out in the implementation of these programmes,” Ikpea stated. “Our farmers are hardworking and deserve access to modern agricultural support systems, and I will continue to push to ensure that these benefits reach our people.”

The lawmaker further highlighted the importance of aligning international agricultural interventions with local needs, adding that his priority remains to attract impactful projects that will boost productivity, create jobs, and improve rural livelihoods across the senatorial district.

Reaffirming his support for sustained collaboration between Nigeria and the European Union, Senator Ikpea assured constituents that he would continue to leverage his position on the Senate Agriculture Committee to advocate for inclusive development.

He also reiterated his broader commitment to purposeful representation, noting that agriculture remains a key pillar for economic growth in Edo Central, and that deliberate efforts must be made to empower farmers with the tools and resources needed to thrive.

The oversight visit underscores Senator Ikpea’s proactive approach in ensuring that Edo Central Senatorial District is adequately captured in national and international agricultural development programmes.
