Sir Dr Lucky Eseigbe Esq has formally resigned from his position as Edo State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development and has officially joined the race for the House of Representatives seat representing Esan Central/Esan West/Igueben Federal Constituency, expressing profound gratitude to Governor Monday Okpebholo for the opportunity to serve in his administration.
In a statement made available to journalists, Eseigbe described his tenure in office as a period of impactful service and institutional reform, noting that it was an honour to contribute to the state’s urban development and physical planning policies under the leadership of Governor Okpebholo.
“I am deeply grateful to His Excellency, Governor Monday Okpebholo, for the confidence reposed in me and the privilege to serve the good people of Edo State. The experience has been both humbling and rewarding,” he stated.
Eseigbe reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty and total commitment to the governor’s vision of purposeful leadership and the broader ideals of the All Progressives Congress (APC), stressing that his decision marks a new phase of service rather than a departure from public engagement.
A seasoned administrator with extensive public service experience, Eseigbe previously served as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Edo State Public Building and Maintenance Agency, Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Edo State, and Honourable Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Edo State. His trajectory across key ministries and agencies has positioned him as a central figure in policy implementation, institutional strengthening, and grassroots governance within the state.
Widely regarded as a frontline House of Representatives aspirant for Esan West, Esan Central, and Igueben Federal Constituency, Eseigbe is positioning himself for what he describes as “purposeful and result-driven representation” at the National Assembly. With his formal entry into the race, he emphasized that his aspiration is anchored on legislative effectiveness, constituency development, and people-centered policies aimed at advancing socio-economic growth across the federal constituency.
He also serves as the Esan West Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors for Asiwaju 2027, further underscoring his active engagement within the party’s mobilization structure and his commitment to the progressive ideals of the APC.
Political observers note that Eseigbe’s resignation aligns with established public service protocols for aspirants seeking elective office, underscoring his commitment to due process and ethical standards.
As he transitions from the executive arm to the legislative arena, supporters say his experience in governance, professional background, and grassroots engagement place him in strong contention for the forthcoming electoral cycle.
Sir Dr Lucky Eseigbe’s move is expected to further shape the political dynamics within Esan West, Esan Central, and Igueben Federal Constituency, as stakeholders anticipate a vibrant and issues-based campaign built around competence, development, and inclusive representation.
