The political momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections received a boost in Ivue-Uromi as a delegation of Esan women supporting Distinguished Senator Joseph Igiagbe Ikpea paid a goodwill visit to the residence of Hon. Robert Unabor, reaffirming their commitment to grassroots mobilisation and the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The women, who arrived in a show of solidarity and appreciation, presented gifts to Hon. Unabor as they highlighted the importance of sustained support, unity and active participation in the political process.
During the engagement, the women expressed confidence in Senator Ikpea’s leadership and reaffirmed their determination to mobilise support for his re-election as Senator representing Edo Central Senatorial District, while also working for the success of APC candidates across elective positions in 2027.
They described Senator Ikpea’s record of discipline, commitment and grassroots engagement as key factors strengthening his standing among the people, stressing that continuity would provide an opportunity to consolidate ongoing efforts in advancing the interests of Edo Central.
The visit also underscored the strategic role of women in grassroots politics, particularly in community mobilisation, voter engagement and building sustained support for political candidates and programmes.
The women commended Hon. Robert Unabor for his support and accessibility, describing the engagement as a demonstration of the growing network of grassroots stakeholders working towards a coordinated and united APC structure ahead of the 2027 elections.
The gathering ultimately reinforced a shared message of unity, mobilisation and political participation, with the women pledging to remain actively engaged in the grassroots campaign for Senator Ikpea and the APC.
