FROM AUCHI CAMPUS TO THE WORLD: 15 YEARS OF GIVING ESAN A VOICE
In 2010, on the campus of Auchi Polytechnic, a final year Mass Communication student, _Airahuobhor Osajele Godsent_, saw a silence and decided to break it.
The mainstream media was loud about the city and its elites. Our villages, our markets, our community heroes were pushed to the margins. Rural Esan was speaking, but no one was listening.
From that gap, Esan News Magazine was born. Not to chase noise. To carry truth. To bridge the information gap. To tell the Esan story by Esan people, for Esan people, and to the world.
For 15 years we have kept faith. Week after week, hard copies have moved from Ewu to Uromi, from Irrua to Igueben, and into Esan homes across the global diaspora. We became community journalism at its finest — rooted at home, alive abroad.
In 2020, our voice grew wings. In collaboration with _Comrade Kingsley Ohens_, producer of Esan TV and President of Esan Youths Organization, we diversified into digital. Urban Scoop Media was registered. _urbanscopnews.com_ was launched. Print met speed. Local met global.
Today, Esan News Magazine International publishes weekly. We reach the unreached. We serve the underserved. We report the greatness of Esan. We celebrate our sons and daughters building nations. We spotlight SMEs, agriculture, education, health, and governance that moves Esan forward.
