The Chairman of the Nigeria Medical Association, Edo State Chapter, Dr. Andrew Oseghale Eigbedion, has felicitated with the Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, on the occasion of his 56th birthday anniversary, describing the milestone as an opportunity to celebrate his leadership, commitment to public service and contributions to the development of the state.
Dr. Eigbedion, in a statement signed and made available to newsmen on behalf of the executives and members of the Edo State Chapter of the Nigeria Medical Association, extended warm birthday greetings to the Governor and expressed appreciation for his administration’s efforts toward improving the welfare of Edo residents.
The Edo NMA Chairman particularly acknowledged the importance of sustained investment in the health sector, noting that a functional healthcare system remains fundamental to the wellbeing, productivity and socioeconomic development of any society.
According to him, the medical community in Edo State recognises the significance of government policies and initiatives aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery, improving healthcare infrastructure and creating an enabling environment for medical professionals to effectively discharge their responsibilities.
He said Governor Okpebholo’s administration has demonstrated a growing commitment to placing the wellbeing of Edo people at the centre of governance, stressing that such commitment deserves commendation and continued partnership from critical stakeholders in the health sector.
Dr. Eigbedion further congratulated the Governor for attaining the age of 56, describing it as a significant milestone marked by years of service, experience and dedication to the people.
He prayed for God’s continued guidance, wisdom, good health and strength for the Governor as he leads the state, while expressing the hope that the years ahead would bring greater accomplishments and enduring progress to Edo State.
The Edo NMA Chairman also reaffirmed the association’s commitment to constructive engagement and collaboration with the state government in advancing policies and programmes that will strengthen healthcare delivery, protect the wellbeing of healthcare workers and improve access to quality medical services for residents across the state.
He urged the Governor to remain focused on policies that place human development, healthcare, security, infrastructure and economic prosperity at the heart of his administration.
