Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Esan West Local Government Area, led by Rt. Hon. Thomas Okosun, has reaffirmed its strong commitment to the party and pledged its full support for the administration of Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo.
The Esan West APC leadership made the commitment during a courtesy visit to the Edo State Deputy Chairman of the APC, Hon. Sylvester Aigboboh, alongside Hon. Jonathan Ibhamawu, where discussions focused on grassroots mobilisation, party development and strategies for strengthening the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking during the visit, Rt. Hon. Thomas Okosun said the APC in Esan West remained cohesive, organised and firmly committed to the leadership of the party at both the state and national levels.
He assured the state party leadership that Esan West was fully prepared to contribute significantly to the electoral success of the APC in the 2027 elections, particularly in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Monday Okpebholo.
Okosun pledged that Esan West would work diligently towards contributing its share to the 2.5 million votes Governor Okpebholo has projected for President Tinubu from Edo State, through sustained grassroots mobilisation, voter engagement and effective coordination across the local government.
“We are fully committed to the APC and its leadership. Esan West is ready, organised and prepared to work for the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Monday Okpebholo and all APC candidates in 2027,” Okosun stated.
He said the people of Esan West had continued to demonstrate confidence in the APC and expressed optimism that the party’s growing grassroots structure would translate into overwhelming electoral support at the polls.
The APC leader further pledged the commitment of the local government leadership to supporting the Governor’s development agenda and ensuring that the administration’s programmes and achievements are effectively communicated to the people at the grassroots.
He stressed that the 2027 elections would require continuous engagement with the electorate, robust grassroots mobilisation and a united sense of purpose among party leaders, stakeholders and members.
Okosun also commended the leadership of the Edo State APC for its guidance and efforts toward strengthening the party’s structure across the state, assuring that Esan West would remain a dependable pillar of the party’s electoral mobilisation efforts.
Responding, Hon. Sylvester Aigboboh, Deputy Chairman of the Edo State APC, thanked the Esan West delegation for the visit and commended Rt. Hon. Thomas Okosun and the local government leadership for their dedication, loyalty and commitment to the growth of the party.
Aigboboh expressed confidence in the capacity of the Esan West APC structure to deliver impressive results in the 2027 elections, noting that sustained grassroots engagement and effective coordination would be critical to achieving the party’s electoral objectives.
He encouraged the leadership and members of the party in Esan West to remain focused on mobilisation, strengthening the party’s presence at the ward and unit levels and supporting the policies and programmes of the APC-led government.
The Deputy Chairman assured the delegation of the state party’s continued support and guidance as the APC intensifies preparations for the 2027 electoral cycle.
