BENIN CITY — The Edo Youth Impact Forum (EYIF) 2.0, themed “Ideas, Capital, Impact,” opened in Benin City on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, bringing together young people from across Edo State for a two-day convergence focused on innovation, entrepreneurship, skills development, leadership and access to opportunities.

The event, holding at the Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub, Benin City, is designed to equip young people with practical skills, entrepreneurial knowledge and civic awareness while creating platforms for networking, innovation and enterprise development.

Among the participants are 20 youths from Esan South East Local Government Area, whose participation in the forum was fully sponsored by Dr. Ernest Iyere Ahamiojie, former Edo State House of Assembly aspirant for Esan South East Constituency and Founder/President of the Dr. Ernest Iyere Ahamiojie Initiatives.

Ahead of the day’s activities, Dr. Ahamiojie visited the 20-member Esan South East contingent at their lounge, where he interacted with them and offered words of encouragement, guidance and mentorship.

During the engagement, Ahamiojie urged the youths to conduct themselves responsibly throughout the programme and to remain worthy ambassadors of Esan South East, stressing that their participation was not merely about attending an event but about positioning themselves to learn, connect, grow and bring value back to their communities.

He further encouraged them to take full advantage of every opportunity presented by EYIF 2.0, particularly the exposure to ideas, entrepreneurs, industry professionals, mentors and potential networks capable of shaping their personal and professional futures.

The sponsorship, according to the initiative, reflects Ahamiojie’s commitment to creating opportunities for young people and supporting their participation in programmes capable of expanding their knowledge, networks and entrepreneurial horizons.

EYIF 2.0 itself brings together young people and emerging entrepreneurs from different parts of Edo State, with the organisers describing the platform as an avenue for knowledge exchange, showcasing innovation, practical skill-building and connecting young people with the wider ecosystem of government, business and entrepreneurship.

The forum also provided an opportunity for Dr. Ernest Iyere Ahamiojie and members of his team to interact with the Edo State First Lady, with the encounter culminating in photographs that further highlighted the broad participation and networking opportunities surrounding the event.

With EYIF 2.0 running from August 18 to 19, 2026, at the Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub, the gathering is expected to expose participating youths to new ideas, entrepreneurial opportunities, masterclasses, innovation and strategic connections.

For the 20 youths sponsored from Esan South East, the message from their benefactor is clear: the opportunity has been provided; the responsibility now lies with them to learn, connect, distinguish themselves and convert the experience into meaningful impact.
