A Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced three convicted suspects to life imprisonment for their roles in the abduction of students and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The convicts were found guilty after pleading guilty to terrorism-related charges linked to the kidnapping incident. During the proceedings, the court also established that the defendants were members of Darul Salam, an affiliate of the proscribed Ansaru terrorist group.
The judgment marks a significant milestone in the prosecution of those involved in the high-profile school abduction, reinforcing the Federal Government’s resolve to hold perpetrators of terrorism and kidnapping accountable.
The case is one of several ongoing efforts by security agencies and the judiciary to combat violent crimes and strengthen national security through decisive legal action.
