The Initiative for Youth Awareness on Migration, Immigration Development and Reintegration (IYAMIDR) has commended the Secretary to the Edo State Government, Musa Umar Ikhilor, for what it described as his outstanding service, administrative diligence, and unwavering commitment to the successful implementation of the SHINE Agenda of the administration of Monday Okpebholo.
In a statement issued on Friday by the Executive Director of IYAMIDR, Solomon Okoduwa, the organisation praised the Edo State Government for what it termed a thoughtful and strategic appointment, noting that the choice of Barr. Ikhilor as Secretary to the State Government has continued to strengthen coordination and governance within the state administration.
The group stated that the office of the Secretary to the State Government remains one of the most critical institutions in governance, serving as the central coordinating hub for policy implementation, institutional continuity, and administrative efficiency. According to the statement, Barr. Ikhilor has demonstrated competence, humility, and an exceptional sense of responsibility in the discharge of his duties.
IYAMIDR further noted that his contributions to policy coordination and administrative follow-through have played a significant role in advancing reforms and developmental initiatives across sectors in Edo State. The organisation maintained that his ability to combine strategic thinking with effective execution has continued to support the actualisation of Governor Okpebholo’s SHINE Agenda.
The statement also acknowledged the resilience and composure displayed by the SSG in managing complex political and administrative responsibilities, stressing that his calm leadership style and dedication to the overall interest of Edo State have earned him respect among stakeholders and development partners.
Describing his leadership as steady and result-oriented, the organisation encouraged him to remain focused and committed despite the challenges associated with public service, adding that Edo State requires more leaders who embody integrity, discipline, and genuine dedication to progress.
IYAMIDR reiterated its commitment to supporting policies and programmes that promote youth development, migration management, and reintegration, while expressing optimism about continued collaboration with the office of the Secretary to the State Government in advancing sustainable development initiatives across Edo State.
The commendation, signed by Solomon Okoduwa, reaffirmed the organisation’s confidence in the leadership capacity of Barr. Musa Umar Ikhilor and its belief in the ongoing efforts of the Edo State Government toward strengthening governance and inclusive development.
