EDO CENTRAL ~ NIGERIA
1ST OCTOBER, 2026.
As we commemorate Nigeria’s Independence Day, I extend my warmest greetings and heartfelt felicitations to the good people of Edo Central Senatorial District. This occasion reminds us of the sacrifices, courage and determination that shaped our nation’s journey toward self-government. It is also an opportunity for us to renew our commitment to peace, unity, progress and the collective development of our communities.
As your representative in the Senate, I remain committed to advocating for initiatives that can contribute to improved infrastructure and better living conditions across Edo Central. Our people deserve functional roads, stronger public institutions, improved access to education and healthcare, greater economic opportunities, and development that reaches communities across the five Local Government Areas of our senatorial district. Effective representation must remain connected to the needs and aspirations of the people.
I also recognise that representation is a continuing responsibility. The National Assembly describes constituency representation as one of the central responsibilities of senators, alongside lawmaking and oversight. I therefore remain determined to use my position to present the concerns of Edo Central, pursue constructive legislative interventions and maintain meaningful engagement with the people I represent.
NASS
As we look toward the 2027 electoral season, I encourage the people of Edo Central to remain informed and actively participate in our democratic process. The choice of representatives belongs to the people, and every citizen should carefully consider the records, programmes, priorities and commitments of those seeking public office before making their decision. My own commitment remains to continue communicating my vision and record openly to the people.
On this Independence Day, I pray for peace, prosperity and renewed hope for Nigeria and, particularly, for the people of Edo Central. May our communities experience greater development, our young people find meaningful opportunities, and our nation continue to grow in unity and strength. Happy Independence Day to the good people of Edo Central and to all Nigerians.
— Senator Joseph Igiagbe Ikpea
Senator Representing Edo Central Senatorial District
