Okpebholo Expresses Confidence in APC Victory Ahead of 2027 Elections

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has expressed confidence in the ability of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to secure victory in the 2027 general elections, declaring that the party has established a strong structure across the state ahead of the polls.

The Governor stated this on Tuesday during an APC mobilisation rally in Ologbo Wards 9 and 10 in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, where he presented the party’s candidates for the 2027 general elections to party members and supporters.

According to a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Dr. Patrick Akhere Ebojele, Okpebholo said the mobilisation exercise was designed to strengthen the APC at the grassroots, consolidate its support base and build greater unity among members ahead of the elections.

The Governor presented Ogbeide Ihama as the party’s candidate for the Senate, Felix Igbinovia for the House of Representatives and Clement Ikponmwonsa for the Edo State House of Assembly, urging party members to remain united and committed to the party’s programmes while working collectively for the success of the candidates.

Okpebholo thanked the people of Edo State for their support for his administration and assured them that his government would continue to pursue initiatives aimed at advancing the development of the state.

He also expressed appreciation to residents who attended the rally despite the rainfall, while praying for God’s continued blessings upon them.

Speaking at the event, Edo State APC Chairman, Jarrett Tenebe, disclosed that the party was targeting 2.5 million votes for President Bola Tinubu in Edo State in the 2027 general elections.

Tenebe said the party leadership had commenced mobilisation across the 18 local government areas of the state, urging members to work together towards achieving the party’s electoral objectives.

He further noted that the Governor and his deputy, Philip Shaibu, had continued to visit communities and engage party members as part of efforts to strengthen the APC’s grassroots structure ahead of the elections.

Also speaking, the APC Chairman in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, Sunny Ogbewe, said the Governor’s visit had boosted the morale of party members in the area.

Ogbewe described Ikpoba-Okha as one of the local government areas with a large number of registered voters in the state and said the party would intensify its mobilisation efforts to secure substantial support for the APC in the 2027 elections.

He commended the Governor for projects and interventions in the local government area, saying the party would reciprocate by working towards achieving its electoral targets.

The Ikpoba-Okha APC chairman also commended the chairman of the local government council for supporting the administration’s development agenda.

The Governor’s visit formed part of the APC’s ongoing grassroots mobilisation activities across Edo State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
