Edo @35: YS4A Celebrates Heritage, Calls for Greater Investment in Youth

BENIN CITY — The Youth Structure for Asiwaju (YS4A) – Asiwaju Boys and Girls, a recognised APC support group – has congratulated the government and people of Edo State on its 35th anniversary, celebrating the state’s rich heritage, resilience and progress while calling for greater investment in young people.

The goodwill message was conveyed by High Chief Godfrey Omoarebu Ogbeide, MBA, MSBA, Secretariat Director of YS4A, on behalf of Dr. Michael Nwoko, FRSPH, Convener/National Coordinator of YS4A and Zonal Coordinator, Contact and Mobilization – South-South, Cityboy Movement, together with the leadership and membership of YS4A.

The group felicitated with Governor Monday Okpebholo; the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku’Akpolokpolo Oba Ewuare II; traditional institutions and the people of Edo State.

Ogbeide described Edo at 35 as an opportunity to celebrate the state’s achievements while renewing commitment to education, youth empowerment, community development and economic opportunity.

“Our youths remain the bridge between our heritage and our future. We must continue to build a state where every young person can participate, contribute and prosper,” he said.

He also commended Dr. Michael Nwoko’s leadership in advancing YS4A’s strategic youth engagement and grassroots mobilisation across Nigeria, as well as his role with the Cityboy Movement in the South-South, working with like-minded individuals and organisations to Build, Consolidate and Validate (BCV) grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 general elections. He noted that this aligns with the group’s stated support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and other APC candidates across the region.

YS4A urged stakeholders to work together for an inclusive, peaceful and prosperous Edo State in which young people can contribute meaningfully to its future.
