The Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the nomination of Terry Igiebor as Chairman of the Edo State Ecological Funding and Management Commission, in a move aimed at strengthening environmental management and sustainable development across the state.
The nomination was announced in a government statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., on Wednesday, June 18, 2026.
According to the statement, Igiebor is a distinguished businessman and grassroots politician with a proven record of public service and a strong commitment to community development, environmental sustainability, and grassroots empowerment.
He previously served as a Member of the Edo State Audit Service Commission, where he played a significant role in promoting accountability, transparency, and good governance in the state’s public service.
The Edo State Government expressed confidence that Igiebor’s wealth of experience, leadership capacity, and dedication to public service will contribute significantly to the effective management of ecological funds and the implementation of policies aimed at addressing environmental challenges, mitigating the impact of climate-related hazards, and advancing sustainable development across Edo State.
In line with constitutional and statutory requirements, the nomination will be transmitted to the Edo State House of Assembly for legislative consideration and confirmation.
The appointment reflects the Okpebholo administration’s continued commitment to assembling experienced and competent individuals to drive its development agenda and deliver effective governance for the people of Edo State.
