IKPEA’S RELENTLESS CRUSADE: From Road Advocacy to Senate Push for Ecological Rescue in Esanland

Long before he assumed office as a Senator of the Federal Republic, Joseph Ikpea had already established an unassuming reputation as a silent but relentless advocate for the welfare of his people. The objective was clear: to bring national attention to the alarming state of the highway and compel the Federal Government to act.

In a significant move this month, he presented a motion in the Senate calling for urgent ecological remediation across Esanland in Edo State.

The motion highlights the worsening environmental degradation affecting Esan Central, Esan West, Esan North-East, Esan South-East, and Igueben Local Government Areas. By placing this issue on the national agenda, Ikpea is once again amplifying the concerns of his constituents and seeking concrete federal intervention.
