BENIN CITY, EDO STATE — The Edo State Government has renewed public awareness on its Whistleblower Security Initiative, urging residents to actively support ongoing efforts to combat kidnapping, cultism, and other forms of criminality across the state.
The initiative, which operates under the slogan “See Something, Say Something, Get Rewarded,” remains a critical component of the state’s security architecture, providing citizens with a secure platform to share credible and actionable intelligence with security agencies.
Through the dedicated toll-free whistleblower security line, 080-000-11111, residents are encouraged to report suspicious movements, criminal activities, hideouts, and information capable of assisting security operatives in apprehending perpetrators of crime.
To encourage public participation and strengthen community-based intelligence gathering, the government continues to offer substantial rewards for information that leads to successful arrests. Individuals whose information results in the arrest of kidnappers are eligible for a ₦5 million reward, while information leading to the arrest of cultists attracts a ₦3 million reward.
The Edo State Government reiterated its commitment to protecting the identity of all whistleblowers, assuring residents that confidentiality remains a cornerstone of the programme. Authorities emphasized that every genuine report contributes significantly to ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks and improve public safety.
The government further noted that effective security is most successful when citizens and law enforcement agencies work together through timely intelligence sharing and community vigilance. By encouraging residents to provide credible information, the whistleblower initiative strengthens ongoing efforts to identify criminal elements, prevent crimes before they occur, and improve the overall safety of communities across Edo State.
The government further stressed that maintaining a secure environment requires collective responsibility, calling on community leaders, youth groups, civil society organizations, and residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies.
As Edo State continues to intensify measures against kidnapping and cult-related violence, the whistleblower programme stands as a strategic platform for citizens to contribute meaningfully to the protection of lives and property.
Residents are encouraged to visit www.whistleblower.edostate.gov.ng for additional information and to support the collective mission of building a safer, more secure Edo State.
Your identity is protected. Your courage saves lives. Together, we can secure Edo State.
