The Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor on Communications and Strategy, Hon. GodsWill Inegbe, has strongly criticized what he described as repeated attempts by Arise TV presenter, Ayo Mairo-Ese, to diminish and ridicule the developmental achievements of Governor Monday Okpebholo’s administration.
Reacting to discussions on a recent edition of the Arise TV Morning Show, Inegbe expressed disappointment over remarks that appeared to mock members of the Scout Association of Nigeria (SAN), particularly the young scouts who participated in the inspection of the historic Ramat Park Flyover project in Benin City.
According to Inegbe, the participation of the scouts should be viewed as a commendable effort aimed at encouraging civic consciousness, patriotism, leadership, and youth involvement in the developmental progress of Edo State rather than being subjected to ridicule.
“The young scouts who attended the inspection exercise deserve commendation, not mockery. They represent the future of our society and should be encouraged to take interest in public infrastructure, governance, and community development. Their presence at such a landmark project reflects the administration’s commitment to carrying every segment of society along in the journey of progress,” he stated.
The Communications Adviser noted that despite attempts to cast the event in a negative light, the discussion unexpectedly shifted toward an objective evaluation of the Governor’s achievements. Unlike previous occasions characterized by partisan criticism, the conversation was largely driven by verifiable facts and tangible results.
Observers of the programme witnessed what many described as a balanced assessment of Governor Okpebholo’s growing portfolio of infrastructural interventions across Edo State, including road construction, urban renewal initiatives, and strategic projects designed to improve the quality of life of citizens.
The Ramat Park Flyover project, widely regarded as a transformative infrastructure undertaking, has continued to attract public attention and commendation for its potential to ease traffic congestion, enhance connectivity, and stimulate economic activities within the state capital and beyond.
Inegbe maintained that no amount of cynicism or political bias can overshadow the visible progress being recorded under Governor Okpebholo’s leadership. He emphasized that the administration remains focused on delivering impactful governance, sustainable development, and people-centered policies that directly benefit Edo residents.
He further reiterated that the Governor’s commitment to infrastructure, youth development, and inclusive governance continues to earn widespread recognition among citizens who are witnessing positive changes across various sectors.
As Edo State advances on its path of transformation, the government remains resolute in its determination to build a stronger, more prosperous future while encouraging young people, including members of the Scout Association of Nigeria, to embrace leadership, service, and active participation in the development of their communities.
The administration believes that genuine progress should be celebrated and that every citizen, regardless of age, has a role to play in the collective effort to move Edo State forward.
