PSG Knock Bayern Munich Out, Set Up Champions League Final Clash With Arsenal

Kingsley Ohens reporting

Defending champions Paris Saint-Germain F.C. have secured qualification for the final of the UEFA Champions League after eliminating FC Bayern Munich with a 6-5 aggregate victory in a thrilling semi-final showdown.

PSG entered the second leg in Munich holding a narrow 5-4 advantage from the first-leg thriller in Paris and wasted no time asserting themselves at the Allianz Arena.

French forward Ousmane Dembélé opened the scoring in just the 3rd minute, finishing off a rapid attacking move to give PSG a crucial early lead and extend their aggregate advantage.

Bayern Munich pushed relentlessly for a comeback throughout the encounter and eventually found an equaliser deep into stoppage time when England captain Harry Kane scored in the 90+4 minute. However, the late goal proved insufficient as PSG held firm to progress to another Champions League final.

The first leg in Paris had already produced one of the most dramatic matches in Champions League history. PSG won 5-4 at the Parc des Princes with goals from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (24’, 56’), João Neves (33’), and a brace from Ousmane Dembélé (45+5’ penalty, 58’). Bayern’s scorers were Harry Kane (17’ penalty), Michael Olise (41’), Dayot Upamecano (65’), and Luis Díaz (68’).

PSG will now face Arsenal F.C. in the UEFA Champions League final scheduled for May 30, 2026, in Budapest.
