A new chapter in youth-driven political engagement has begun in Edo State with the appointment of Barrister Emmanuel Ehizogie Iyeomoan as the Edo State Coordinator of the ADC South South Students Coalition (ADC-SSSC), a strategic youth mobilization arm of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The appointment, which followed an extensive process of consultations and evaluations, places Iyeomoan at the forefront of coordinating student and youth political participation across Edo State under the ADC platform. It is widely regarded as a significant step in strengthening grassroots political structures and fostering youth inclusion in governance.
Barr. Iyeomoan brings to the role a track record of leadership, organizational capacity, and sustained engagement in youth advocacy. He previously served as Chairman of the King’s College Old Boys’ Association (KCOBA), University of Benin chapter (2014–2015), and later as the Immediate Past Administrator of the KCOBA Secretariat. His involvement in national alumni activities further includes membership of the 116th Kingsweek Planning Committee in 2025.
Beyond alumni leadership, Iyeomoan has built a profile as a youth mobilizer and policy advocate. He is recognized as a Student and Youth Ambassador associated with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), reflecting his engagement in promoting accountability and anti-corruption values among young Nigerians. He is also the Grand Thinker behind the Thinking Tomorrow Africa Initiative and founder of the Edo Rebranded Agenda—platforms aimed at reshaping civic consciousness and youth participation in national development.
His new role within the ADC structure is positioned as both a responsibility and a rallying point for young people. As Edo State Coordinator of the ADC-SSSC, he is expected to drive student outreach, political education, and grassroots mobilization, aligning youth voices with the party’s core principles of justice, unity, and progress.
In accepting the position, the emphasis surrounding his appointment underscores a broader message: the increasing relevance of youth as active contributors to Nigeria’s democratic evolution. The ADC South South Students Coalition, under his coordination, is anticipated to serve as a catalyst for organized youth participation, bridging the gap between emerging leaders and institutional politics.
With this development, the ADC continues to reinforce its youth-focused strategy, positioning the next generation not merely as future leaders, but as present-day stakeholders shaping the nation’s political and developmental trajectory.
The appointment signals confidence in Iyeomoan’s capacity to lead, inspire, and consolidate a unified student movement in Edo State—anchored on a shared vision of national progress and collective responsibility.
