The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Edo State Branch, has congratulated the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Ray Royal Construction Company Limited, Rt. Rev. (Dr.) Mathew Okpebholo, JP, on the company’s Golden Jubilee, celebrating 50 years of engineering excellence, infrastructural development, philanthropy and service to humanity.
In a congratulatory message marking the milestone on Sunday, the Chairman of the NMA, Edo State Branch, Dr. Andrew Oseghale Eigbedion, described the anniversary as a remarkable testament to visionary leadership, entrepreneurial resilience and a longstanding commitment to national development.
Dr. Eigbedion, speaking on behalf of the association’s leadership and membership, noted that Ray Royal Construction Company Limited had established itself as a significant contributor to Nigeria’s construction and engineering industry over five decades, with a record of involvement in major road projects, bridge construction, asphalt production facilities, erosion control and other critical infrastructure.
He observed that the company’s 50-year journey represents more than corporate longevity, highlighting its enduring contribution to economic growth, community development and the expansion of infrastructure essential to societal progress.
The NMA Chairman particularly commended the company’s investments in education and healthcare, noting that its contributions to schools, lecture theatres, sports complexes, hospitals and nursing education institutions demonstrate an understanding of development that extends beyond physical infrastructure to include human capital advancement.
Of particular importance to the medical community, he said, is the establishment of St. Matthew’s Specialist Hospital in Eiduenu-Irrua, which provides healthcare services to residents of Esanland and neighbouring communities, as well as St. Matthew’s Royal College of Nursing, which contributes to the training of future nursing professionals.
According to him, these institutions represent valuable investments in healthcare delivery, professional training and the wellbeing of communities, aligning with the broader aspiration to strengthen healthcare services and develop a competent health workforce in Edo State.
Dr. Eigbedion also applauded Rt. Rev. (Dr.) Okpebholo’s sustained commitment to educational advancement through scholarship grants awarded over the past 26 years to thousands of Edo State indigenes studying in tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
He noted that the success stories of beneficiaries who have become medical doctors, engineers, architects, pilots, lawyers and other professionals demonstrate the far-reaching impact of the initiative and the importance of investing in the education and future of young people.
Beyond infrastructure, healthcare and education, the NMA Chairman recognised the cleric and entrepreneur’s humanitarian engagements, including support for vulnerable individuals, poverty alleviation initiatives and assistance to persons unable to meet statutory financial requirements for their release from correctional facilities.
He described these interventions as expressions of compassion, social responsibility and a commitment to preserving human dignity, adding that such initiatives reinforce the broader value of private enterprise when combined with philanthropy and service to humanity.
Dr. Eigbedion further stated that Rt. Rev. (Dr.) Okpebholo’s journey exemplifies the intersection of visionary entrepreneurship, faith, philanthropy and community service, emphasising that the enduring measure of success lies not only in completed projects and corporate accomplishments but also in lives transformed, opportunities created and communities strengthened.
“As Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association, Edo State Branch, I particularly acknowledge your contributions to healthcare infrastructure, medical education and the training of healthcare professionals. These efforts align with our collective aspiration for a healthier, more prosperous Edo State and a Nigeria where access to quality healthcare and education is increasingly within the reach of our people,” he stated.
The NMA Edo State Branch consequently commended the founder, management and workforce of Ray Royal Construction Company Limited for sustaining a legacy of excellence and impact across infrastructure, education, healthcare and human development.
The association expressed confidence that the company would build on its achievements in the coming years through sustained innovation, stronger partnerships and expanded contributions to the development of Edo State and Nigeria.
As Ray Royal Construction Company Limited marks 50 years of operation, the anniversary stands as an opportunity to celebrate not only the company’s corporate achievements but also the wider impact of its investments in infrastructure, human capital development, healthcare delivery and humanitarian service.
The NMA Edo State Branch wished the company and its founder continued success, good health and greater accomplishments in the years ahead.
