Among those present were the APC candidate for the Esan Central–Esan West–Igueben Federal Constituency, Sir Lucky Eseigbe, Esq.; APC Leader in Igueben, Rt. Hon. Ephraim Alubhosele; APC candidate for the Edo State House of Assembly, Igueben Constituency, Engr. Obehi Ayemere; the Chairman of Igueben Local Government Council, as well as other party leaders and community stakeholders.

Addressing the gathering, Senator Ikpea thanked the people of Igueben for their continued support for Governor Okpebholo, the APC and its candidates, stressing that the Idigun–Oyomon Road represents another important step towards opening up communities, improving connectivity, facilitating movement and strengthening economic activities in the area.

Senator Ikpea explained that the Idigun–Oyomon Road was captured in the budget during Governor Monday Okpebholo’s tenure in the National Assembly. He noted that after Governor Okpebholo emerged as Governor of Edo State and he subsequently assumed office as the Senator representing Edo Central, he took up the responsibility of following through on the project, ensuring that the necessary approvals were secured and that the road moved from budgetary provision to actual implementation.

He added that Governor Okpebholo subsequently mandated him to perform the official flag-off of the project, describing the development as another demonstration of the administration’s commitment to delivering meaningful infrastructure across Edo State.

The Senator assured the people of Igueben that the road project was not an isolated intervention, revealing that more development projects are coming to the area and have been captured in the current budget.

He therefore urged the people to continue supporting Governor Okpebholo, the APC and all the party’s candidates in the forthcoming elections, stressing that sustained support would help consolidate the development gains being recorded across Edo State.

The event also provided an opportunity for community leaders and other stakeholders to commend Governor Okpebholo for his developmental strides and Senator Ikpea for his efforts in ensuring that the Idigun–Oyomon Road moved from budgetary provision to implementation.

Speaking with journalists, community leaders expressed appreciation to the Governor for his commitment to infrastructure development and applauded Senator Ikpea for following through on the project and ensuring that it saw the light of day.

They assured Senator Ikpea, Governor Okpebholo and other APC candidates of their continued support, while reaffirming their readiness to mobilise their communities behind the APC and its candidates ahead of the forthcoming elections.

The flag-off further strengthened the APC’s grassroots presence in Igueben, with women, youths, community stakeholders and party supporters expressing confidence in the development-focused partnership between the Okpebholo administration and the party’s representatives at the National Assembly.

For the people of Igueben, the commencement of the Idigun–Oyomon Road represents more than the construction of a road; it signals a tangible connection between government policy, purposeful representation and grassroots development.
