Governor Monday Okpebholo has praised the resilience, dedication and sacrifices of healthcare professionals in Edo State, describing them as indispensable partners in his administration’s commitment to building a healthier and more prosperous state.
The governor gave the commendation during the seventh anniversary celebration of Edo Specialist Hospital, where he reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to strengthen the state’s healthcare system through sustained support for institutions expanding access to quality and affordable medical services.
Represented by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Yakubu Oshiorenua Musa, Governor Okpebholo congratulated the hospital’s management, staff and development partners for seven years of outstanding service, professionalism and excellence in specialist healthcare delivery.
He noted that the remarkable progress recorded by the hospital since its establishment reflects the impact of visionary leadership, innovation and an unwavering commitment to patient-centred care.
According to the governor, his administration remains focused on strengthening healthcare infrastructure and supporting institutions that continue to improve access to quality medical services for residents across Edo State.
“The achievements recorded by Edo Specialist Hospital over the past seven years demonstrate what can be accomplished through dedication, visionary leadership and a commitment to putting patients first,” he said, while paying tribute to healthcare workers whose sacrifices continue to sustain the sector.
In her address, the Chief Medical Director of Edo Specialist Hospital, Dr. Mrs. Anthonia Inibokun Njoku, expressed appreciation to the Edo State Government, members of staff, patients and development partners for their unwavering support throughout the hospital’s seven-year journey.
She said the hospital has consistently expanded its range of specialist services while maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence, compassion, innovation and integrity, assuring the public of its continued commitment to delivering world-class healthcare to the people of Edo State and beyond.
The anniversary celebration featured goodwill messages and reflections on the institution’s achievements since its establishment in 2019, with stakeholders commending its growing contribution to healthcare delivery and medical excellence across the state.
The event attracted healthcare professionals, government officials, development partners and distinguished guests, all united in celebrating the hospital’s remarkable milestones and reaffirming a shared commitment to raising the standard of specialist healthcare services in Edo State.
The Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Patrick Akhere Ebojele, in a statement, said the anniversary underscored the Okpebholo administration’s determination to continue investing in the health sector as a critical pillar of sustainable development, while strengthening partnerships that will guarantee improved healthcare outcomes for every Edo resident.
