Senator representing Edo Central Senatorial District, Senator Joseph Igiagbe Ikpea, has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the growth and development of grassroots sports, assuring members of All Stars Football Club of his continuous support and encouragement.
The Senator conveyed the assurance on Saturday through his Special Adviser on Political Matters, ESV Amb. Tony Okonigene, during an unscheduled visit to the club’s training session. The visit was warmly received by members of the football club, who expressed appreciation for the Senator’s thoughtful gesture and sustained interest in sports development within the district.
Speaking on behalf of Senator Ikpea, Amb. Okonigene commended the leadership and members of All Stars FC for their resilience, unity, and dedication to keeping the club active and relevant over the years. He described the club as a symbol of discipline, friendship, healthy living, and community cohesion, noting that its consistency has made it a respected sporting institution in Edo Central.
He reiterated Senator Ikpea’s belief that sports remain a powerful instrument for youth engagement, talent discovery, and social integration, stressing that initiatives that promote physical fitness and community development deserve encouragement and support.
“Senator Joseph Ikpea appreciates the remarkable commitment and sacrifices that have sustained this great club through the years. He wants you to know that he stands with you and will continue to identify with initiatives that foster unity, healthy living, and community development,” Okonigene stated.
He also expressed gratitude to the members for the warm and spontaneous reception accorded the delegation despite the visit being unannounced, describing the hospitality as a reflection of the club’s strong values and spirit of camaraderie.
The visit further underscored Senator Ikpea’s enduring commitment to engaging with community-based organizations and supporting initiatives that positively impact the lives of the people across Edo Central Senatorial District.
Among dignitaries present during the visit were the Commander of the Edo State Security Network, Edo Central Command, Mr. Joel Aidamebor; the Senator’s Personal Assistant, Hon. Donald Ebhoze; and other associates who accompanied the delegation.
The interaction ended on a cordial note, with members of All Stars Football Club expressing optimism that the Senator’s encouragement and support would further inspire the club to sustain its legacy of excellence and continue contributing to sports development and community unity in Edo Central.
