Residents of Esan South East Constituency have been encouraged to take advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise to ensure their eligibility to participate in future elections.
The call was made by Dr. Ernest Iyere Ahamioje, who emphasized the importance of voter registration as a fundamental civic responsibility and a critical component of democratic participation.
According to Dr. Ahamioje, the registration exercise provides an opportunity for eligible citizens who have attained the age of 18 and have not previously registered to obtain their voter credentials. He also noted that the exercise accommodates individuals whose Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) have been lost, damaged, or destroyed, as well as voters seeking to transfer or update their polling unit information within wards, local government areas, or across states.
He urged eligible residents to complete their registration either through the designated online platform or at approved registration centres, stressing the need for early participation to avoid the challenges associated with last-minute registration.
Dr. Ahamioje reaffirmed his commitment to promoting civic awareness and ensuring that constituents are adequately informed about opportunities to exercise their constitutional rights. He described the voter’s card as an essential instrument for citizens to make their voices heard and contribute meaningfully to the democratic process.
The public has therefore been encouraged to take full advantage of the ongoing exercise by registering, updating their voter information where necessary, and obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards ahead of future electoral activities.
“Go and get your PVC. Your vote remains your voice in shaping the future of our communities and our nation,” Dr. Ahamioje stated.
