“Why I don’t discus APC’s Okpebholo”, Olumide Akpata
The candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the Edo state September 21st governorship election, Mr. Olumide Akpata has given reasons on why he doesn’t discuss the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Monday Okpebholo. He said, “you all know Okpebholo is not an option and should not be take seriously”, he regretted.
Akpata was seen on a viral video excoriating Okpebholo and his party wondering why he doesn’t discus non issues and that for someone like Okpebholo to emerge as a candidate of any party is like dreaming.
His words, “These people have taken us for granted for too long. You see them shooting on airport road on a broad daylight. Am sure you saw them – AK47; brandishing AK47 shooting”, referring to a crisis to engulfed the state sometimes this year when impeached Deputy Governor, Mr. Philip Shaibu in the company of the APC candidate arrived Benin city from Abuja to forcefully enforce a court ruling.
But, the Labour Party’s candidate is not done in the video where he was said to have addressed Edo people in Houston, United States of America. Speaking about Monday Okpebholo, he said, “Okpebholo…… cuts….. by the way, you know that’s not an option ….. scornful laugh…..”.
However, Akpata gave reasons on why he doesn’t dwell on non issues like Okpebholo and the APC. His words, “because people say I only talk about PDP, this is because in APC, I see nothing there; the matter never bad like that – Edo state, Okpebholo – wake me up, am dreaming……”, audience laughed derisively as they watched Akpata roasting the APC candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo.
