We Need To get Our Selection Process Right In Edo State -Amb. Oriaifo

With the right people at the helm of Political affairs in Edo state, the state can get on her feet and fly, what we need to do, is to put the right people that know what to do, who also have the interest of the people at heart, in the saddle of political power.
This opinion was expressed by Ambassador Odion Oriaifo in a chat with a team of Journalists in Benin, during his short visit to Nigeria.
According to him, “with the avalanche of human and natural resources that Edo state is blessed with, the state is capable of internally generating enough financial resources to sustain itself…”
“We can create a state of our dream, where we will all be proud to live in, that destiny is in our hands”.
Ambassador Oriaifo said, “most people travel to the western worlds to achieve and live a life of their dreams, and in search of greener pastures; but the pastures in those countries we travel to, are not greener over there than what we have in Nigeria”
“…the problem, however, is that, we have not been able to deliberately work towards creating a world we desire…”
According to Ambassador Oriaifo; “for us to create a world that we desire, we should begin by having the right people in the saddle of political power, to do this, we need to get our selection process right”.
Oriaifo, who said, “our Political leaders only desire to gain political power, without having an idea of what to do with it, to positively impact on the lives of the people after getting such power, added that, those aspiring to political offices must not only know the destination, they must know the road map to our desired destination…”
Ambassador Oriaifo advised that, our political office holders, should face governance and do what needs to be done to add values to the lives of the people, and stop engaging in blame games, petty jealousies and strife, that does no one any good.
Commenting on the build up to 2024 Edo gubernatorial election, Oriaifo said; “…thank God the ball, from every indication, is rolling to Edo central, and the plethora of aspirants coming out to show interest in the race, point to the fact that we are not only blessed with people of high quality and substance, our people are also politically aware, and this political awareness will put whoever gets into power on his toes…”
Ambassador Odion Oriaifo, a member of the All Progressives Congress, is a native of Atuagbo in Esan Central local government area of Edo state.
Odion Oriaifo an Ambassador of Toys for Torts Foundation, an America based foundation, just completed his Masters degree programme, in Public Health, in the University of Scotland, United Kingdom, has returned to the UK for the Graduation ceremony.
