Councillors and some delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Esan Central Local Government led by Apostle Matthew Ebhotemen, Chairman of LGA, on Friday, visited aggrieved party leaders in Ward 10, Ugbegun.
The meeting with the PDP delegates and leaders was part of efforts for reconciliation with all aggrieved persons in the ward.
Speaking during the visit, Apostle Matthew Ebhotemen said the influence of Elder Matthew Emiohe and other leaders cannot be ignored, adding that there is every need for quick reconciliation for the battle ahead. He made it clear that Elder Matthew Emiohe remains a blessing to Esan Central Local Government PDP and everyone, describing him as one of the most reliable politicians in Edo State.
The LGA chairman poured encomium on elder Matthew Emiohe and every other leaders and assured them of their continue loyalty.
Other speakers, such as the leader of the legislative arm Esan Central Local Government, Hon. Victor Ehis Okosun, representing Ward 6, Councillor representing Ward 5, Hon. George Washington Egbele, Councillor representing Ward 2, Hon. Izidu Saturday, Councillor representing Ward 10, Rt. Hon. Famous Ehinoria Ebanehita all spoke in the same vein, appreciating Elder Matthew Emiohe for stride in human development and fatherly role in the local government and also assured him and other leaders of their unalloyed support and respect.
In his reaction, Elder Matthew Emiohe thanked the PDP delegates for believing in the leadership of the ward, adding that he would discuss with other leaders of the ward and respond accordingly.
The development came weeks after some leaders in the ward through a press statement threatened to resign from the party as a result of external interference of party activities in the ward.
