The Honourable Member representing Esan Central, Esan West, Igueben Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Marcus I. Onobun celebrates one year anniversary with empowerment packages for women and Youths in his constituency.
Today, Thursday 13th June 2024, marks exactly one year Rt. Hon. Onobun joined other members from different federal constituencies, to be inaugurated into the 10th House of Representatives.
Since his Inauguration, he has been a strong and telling voice on the floor of the House, sponsoring bills and delivering motions of national significance. He has so far, sponsored 8 bills and proposed 8 motions.
The steam from the ambers of his passion for his constituents has never gone cold, despite the injury he sustained on his right leg, during the unfortunate accident which occurred on the 19th of July, 2023, on his way to Abuja from Benin. He has been actively involved in different legislative committee engagements in order to ensure that his constituency is fully represented at the Green Chambers.
The Resolutions of One of his motions which he took a few months after his Inauguration, on the Need for the Federal Government to Intervene on the failed portions of the Benin-Auchi-Okene Federal HighWays was adopted by the House. Unfortunately, the lackadaisical and inept APC Government did not act on the House resolution. But thank God for the proactiveness of the Edo state government in forging a partnership with BUA Cement for the palliative work currently being done on the said.
Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun has so far, donated medical equipment to two medical centres in Esan West and currently, about Seventy Women and Youths are being trained in fashion design and to be empowered with Sewing Machines and startup grant of Hundred Thousand Naira each. Similarly, over 20 motorcycles will be given out to constituents as means of transportation.
Projects to expect from the Honourable member before the end of the year are over twenty. These projects when completed will upscale the economic lives of the people of Esan Central, Esan West and Igueben Federal Constituency.
The Empowerment will take place at the Esan West Local Government Council Hall on Monday 17, 2024.
