It was a blissful day for all the Widows in Ward 8 and Ward 9 in a Esan west Local Government Area as Paul Aigbokhaibho Ogedegbe Foundation distributed Rice to Widows In Úhiélé – Ward-9 And Urohi – Ward – 8 Communities In Esan West LGA Of Edo State.
It was an emotional celebration galore on Tuesday the 4th of June, 2024 as the Paul Aigbkhaibholo Ogedegbe foundation distributed sacks of Rice to Widows across the length and breath of Úhiélé – Ward-9, and entire Urohi Kingdom Ward-8
The humanitarian programme which was facilitated by the foundation’s organizers amongst whom were the Office Directors, Bar. Mary, Mr. Obue Kennedy Ede, Mr. Roland Ijieremen, Chief Festus, among others.
In Úhiélé, the Programme which took place at the Community Development Centre (Townhall) in Úkpoke the Traditional Headquarters of Úhiélé was witnessed by the Odionwele of the entire Community, Pa Andrew Osewele Ekpenwele, Chiefs Okhihie, Oniha, Aikpokhalea, Hon Jonathan Aifuobhokhan Ibhagbosoria, and the Odionweles / Elders of the entire Eight (8) Clans that make up Úhiélé Community.
The ward 8 (Urohi Kingdom) was held in the Onogie of Urohi Kingdom His Royal Majesty Otoikhine 1 Palace Hall, with Chief Michael Obue The Enakhuomen of Urohi Kingdom in attendance
Speaking at the event, Dr. AB-Ayeni informed the audience how he was called upon to select the beneficiaries, and how he went through the Odionweles of the various Clans to ensure that the Sixty (60) beneficiaries were transparently selected among the overwhelming numbers of widows across the Eight (8) Clans, and to ensure even distribution even though there were so many other Widows that wanted to benefit from the programme, but could not be captured in among the first 60 names, and still, so many of them overwhelmingly trouped to the venue and were on ground at the the distribution Hall.
The Head of Team, Bar. Mary who spoke on behalf of the team assured the widows that they will be reached on a later date, and they took the names of the other women that were not captured in the first list and assured them that they will reach out to them very soon as those first batch of beneficiaries were already arranged according to their plans and programmes.
The Beneficiaries who went away with 5-kg pack of Rice together with the Elders and Chiefs each took time to pray from their heart for Paul Aigbokhabholo Ogedegbe who saw the need to extend his personal resources to bless the Widows across the various Communities in the state especially at this time of serious hardship in the country, and also for the Team who offered themselves as a blessing for Mankind.
The high point of the ceremony was the rendition of songs of praises that erupted the Hall of distribution.
In Ward 8, a total number of 145 widows benefited from the humanitarian gesture of Paul Aigbokhabholo Ogedegbe Foundation and his crew members
The kind gesture will be extended to the 192 wards of Edo State in the coming days.
