The National leader, Chief Tom Ikhimi recalled the roles played by two notable sons of Esanland, Prof Ambrose Alli and Admiral Augustus Aikhomu all of blessed memories in the development of Edo State. He told the audience that the late Admiral Aikhomu , single-handedly mapped out Edo State from the old Bendel State . He noted with sadness that several years after the creation of Edo State, an Esan son or daughter, is yet to occupy the seat of the Governor.
He said that he is confident of the support of top leaders of the party, from Edo North and South including the governor, in the quest for an Edo Governor of Esan extraction.

The State Chairman called on the members of the State Working Committee in the local governments to work with him towards the goal of having a state governor of Esan extraction. He apologized for any wrong doing in the past that must have caused the rift.
He called on the party leaders to support the leader of the party, His Excellency, Governor Godwin Obaseki. This he noted will be the sure route to achieving the dream.

Dr Aziegbemi said that the party structure from the wards to the state levels are intact. He urged members not to embark on attending meetings whose decisions cannot be implemented.

Some members of the Special Committee who addressed the leaders were Dr. Francis Ulinfun, Mrs Philo Ihenyen and Chief Omi Imoisili. They thanked the leaders for keeping the party strong and together.

Members of the State Working Committee also addressed the , gatherings. The State Treasurer, Chief Benjamin Ehilenbodiaye and State Youth leader, Oreye Destiny both expressed joy with the development of peace and reconciliation in the senatorial district . They pledged to support the State Chairman and called on all to support the drive for an Edo Governor of Esan extraction.

Chief Joe Edionwele moderated the responses sessions . One leader, one woman leader, one youth leader and one ward Chairman spoke on behalf of others in each local government. They all tasked the committee to ensure free and fair congresses that will culminate to a choice of an Esan candidate that can win the elections and be acceptable to all. They told the committee that as could be seen, there were no longer new, old or Legacy PDP in the local governments but one united PDP..
