The Vice Chancellor of the Igbinedion University Okada Professor Lawrence Ikechuckwu Ezemonye is calling for an absolute commitment of government policies to remove the impelling need causing the adaption to the global demand in tertiary education in Nigeria.

Professor Ezemonye said the government must stimulate the various processes that will help produce quality and future-ready graduates across the country.

The Vice-Chancellor disclosed this on Thursday in Okada, Edo State during a meeting with the press heralding the 25th anniversary of the Institution.

Professor Ezemonye said the 25th-anniversary colloquium-
themed, “Reimagining Tertiary Education for Africa’s Present and Future Realities” will focus on the context of today’s dynamic globalized knowledge economy and technology-driven world.

While speaking on the various achievements of the institution including meaningful steps in teaching, research, capacity building, and innovative studies, Professor Ezemonye, believes it is obvious that future universities must be equipped with increasing efficacy for technological disruption and collective digital paradigm shift.

He hinted that the event of the 25th anniversary billed to commence on Friday, April 26, will end on Sunday, May 12, 2024, with free medical outreach to the Okada neighborhood, commissioning of legacy projects, and the unveiling of its anniversary logo as some former Nigeria Presidents including Dr. Goodluck Jonathan expected to grace the occasion

According to available records, since 1999 when it was established, Nigeria’s premier private university, Igbinedion University, has graduated 15,000 students.
