A notable chieftain of the Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Kelly Udebhulu, has called on Edo people in the diasporas and other public-oriented persons in the state, to join hands with Dr. Loretta Oduware Ogboro-Okor, the newly-appointed Director General of Edo Diaspora Agency, so as to help garner more diaspora remittances and tangible investment to the state, for the benefit of the people.
Udebhulu, who served as a director of Communication and National Orientation Committee of Edo APC Governorship Campaign Council, that worked towards the 2024 election, observed that Edo people, leaving outside Nigeria, have been instrumental to the meaningful development of the state, with the huge remittances, investment and support they give to government and their dependants, back home, hence there is need to always recognise their efforts and request for more, from them.
Prince Udebhulu, who hailed from Urohi Kingdom, the Ward 8 of Esan West Local Government Area of the state, and is a pivot of its APC, congratulated Dr. Ogboro-Okor, the newly-appointed, as a very resourceful woman, who had paid her dues by organising diaspora activities around the countries of the world, where she had built formidable alliances and sensitised Edo people and Nigerians, towards the rapid advancement of the people.
He particularly praised the Edo State governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for his vision and earnestness in appointing Igboro-Okor, adding that the governor actually have faith with adequate women inclusion in government.
Udebhulu further discribed her appointment by Governor Okpebholo as “a round peg in a round hole”.
Whilst commending the efforts of Edo indigenes in abroad, for their steadfastness in getting involved in progressive activities and great support for the government, back in Edo State, he urged them to always bury the differences they may have amongst themselves and in the diaspora organisations they may belong, as that could not make them abandon their love and support for their people.
