There are state roads that goes along side federal roads connecting all parts of Edo State linking many productive ancient towns but not motorable – Esan Creative Youths Foundation tells Obaseki

Benin City 8th Sept 2023

A development oriented community development organization, the Esan Creative Youths Foundation has pointed out a solution that will mitigate the ongoing state of Federal Roads in Edo tussle between the Edo State Government and the Federal Government.

The Esan Creative Youths Foundation, a CAC registered platform observed that the old road crisscrossing the entire Midwest now under state government control can serve fully well in place of federal roads.

The group itemized the roads as follows:

The Old Benin Auchi Road connecting Benin City through several communities including Ugha, Igieduma, Ehor, Ukpogo, Ugiamen, Emuhi, Ukpenu crossing the intersection in Mousco Junction in Ekpoma to connect Illeh, Ewu joining Old Agbede road through all of Agbede through Egono with a narrow bridge at Ogoedion before Ughiole and Ubiane to Auchi. The sign of the ancient Oni and Sons construction company old road is still visible in the routs of networks of these ancient roads which can be maintained as alternative to the Federal Roads.

There is another network of these ancient state roads connecting Ewu to Eidenu, Uromi, Ewossa, Ekpon to Agbor Delta state.

For now, these are some of the identified road network that can solve the problem in the interim while waiting for federal govt to do their part. Watch out for more on Urban Scoop Media.
