*THE EFFICACY OF THE ESAN AGENDA*
As the ESAN AGENDA CRUSADER, my belief and conscience will not allow me to work against my own people. Our people have been marginalized for decades, but now, thanks to God Almighty, we have been blessed with two candidates from the strongest political parties in Nigeria. This is a blessing from God that every Esan person should embrace.
I do not believe in the supremacy of any political party; rather, I believe in my people because I am an Esan man before becoming a party man. I also believe in capacity and character, which we can easily find in the Esan candidates.
Though I am the Edo State Vice Chairman of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), for the sake of fairness and equity, myself and all NNPP members of the Edo Central senatorial district will be supporting our own.
*Historical Marginalization of the Esan People*
For many years, the Esan people have been systematically marginalized in both political and socio-economic spheres in Nigeria. This marginalization has led to a lack of representation and development in our communities, causing us to lag in essential services and infrastructure. The decades of neglect have taken a toll on our growth and potential, leaving us on the fringes of progress.
The recent emergence of two Esan candidates from the most influential political parties signifies a turning point. It represents not just a political opportunity but a chance for the Esan people to reclaim their rightful place in the nation’s socio-political landscape. This milestone is a testament to our enduring resilience and the divine favor we have received.
*Embracing a Divine Blessing*
Having two Esan candidates from the major political parties is more than a coincidence; it is a divine blessing. It is an opportunity for unity and collective action that we must not take lightly. This moment calls for all Esan people to come together and support these candidates who carry our hopes and aspirations.
This blessing is a call to rectify past injustices and to pave the way for a brighter, more equitable future. It is a chance to demonstrate that we are united and ready to assert our place in governance. By rallying behind our candidates, we show that we are prepared to seize this opportunity and effect positive change for our community.
*Prioritizing People Over Party*
While political parties are crucial for organizing and structuring political efforts, my allegiance lies first with my people. Being an Esan man is at the core of my identity, and this shapes my decisions and actions. I cannot, in good conscience, act against the best interests of my people.
Political affiliations should serve as tools to achieve governance and development, not as ends in themselves. My commitment to the Esan people supersedes any party loyalty. It is about supporting leaders who demonstrate the capacity and character to bring about meaningful progress, and in this instance, those leaders are from our own community.
*Capacity and Character in Leadership*
Our Esan candidates exemplify the qualities of capacity and character necessary for effective leadership. They have a deep understanding of the challenges we face and have articulated clear, practical solutions. Their track records in public service highlight their dedication to the welfare of the Esan people and their ability to drive positive change.
These candidates are not just representatives of our ethnicity; they are capable leaders with the vision and integrity required to lead. Supporting them means endorsing competence, honesty, and a genuine commitment to progress. It is a vote for the future of the Esan people and for the development we have long deserved.
*A Call to Unity*
In light of these significant developments, I call upon all Esan people to unite in support of our candidates. This is not a time for division or partisan conflict; it is a time for solidarity and collective action. We must come together, setting aside political differences, to ensure our voices are heard and our interests represented.
I urge every Esan person to look beyond party lines and focus on the greater good. Our unity is our strength, and through this unity, we can achieve fairness and equity. By standing together and supporting our candidates, we take a stand for justice and for the future of our community.
*NNPP’s Commitment*
As the Edo State Vice Chairman of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), I have consulted with other NNPP members from the Edo Central senatorial district and we have collectively decided to support our Esan candidates. This decision is driven by our commitment to fairness, equity, and the betterment of our community.
We recognize the unique opportunity these candidacies present. Supporting our candidates aligns with our core values and our belief in justice and progress. It is a decision that transcends party politics and focuses on the broader goal of uplifting the Esan people.
*Conclusion*
The candidacies of our Esan brothers and sisters mark a pivotal moment in our history. It is a moment that calls for unity, for collective action, and for unwavering support. It is a moment to rise above party lines and embrace the blessing that God has bestowed upon us.
I stand with my people. I believe in the capacity and character of our Esan candidates, and I am committed to supporting them in their quest to bring about meaningful change. I urge every Esan person to do the same.
Let us seize this moment, let us unite, and let us ensure that our voices are heard. Together, we can achieve the fairness, equity, and progress that we deserve.
