Take the Challenge: Edo State ex-Attorney General challenges APC to five million Naira bet over court’s ruling on Edo PDP primary
Yahaya Idris
Edo ex-Attorney General has challenged the Edo State All Progressive Congress, APC, to a five million Naira(#5,000,000) bet over court’s ruling on Edo State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, primary.
The question he asked was; Justice Injang Ekwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja, invalidated the primary of the Peoples Democratic Party that produced Ause Ighodalo as the party’s candidate for the September governorship election? The answer is simply no, it did not.
Counsels, especially Adaze Emwanta Esq, to parties in the suit have interpreted Justice Ekwo’s ruling according to their perceptions. Leaders of the opposition political parties especially the APC have taken to celebrate the court judgment with a slang ‘Ofonee’ (It has ended)
Meanwhile, the PDP have dismissed the celebration by APC leaders insisting that Justice Ekwo never invalidated the party’s primary in his ruling.
A Certified True Copy of Justice Ekwo’s ruling will put an end to the unnecessary celebrations.
The former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Edo State, Oluwole Iyamu SAN, challenged the APC to point to one paragraph or Order of Court which set aside the PDP primary or in any way even talked about the candidacy of Dr. Asue Ighodalo in this election.
“I challenge any of the fellows mouthing “Ofone” to a bet of #5 million Naira if they are able to point to one paragraph or Order of Court which set aside the PDP primary in any way even talked about the candidacy of Dr. Asue Ighodalo in this election.
“This mischief is getting quite irritating and the purveyors should put their money where their mouths are. I await anyone with the balls”.
