Senator Okpebholo calls on supporters, party members to shun personal attacks;
…Says despite the initial differences, Oshiomhole remains his leader
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Candidate for the September governorship election in Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo [Akpakomiza], has called on his supporters and party members to shun personal attacks, intra-party grievances and animosity arising from the just concluded governorship primary election of the party.
In a statement by his Director of Media and Publicity, Godswill Inegbe, the Senator said that the governorship primary election is over, and that it is time to begin the real process of rescuing Edo State from its current doldrums.
“It’s clear to every discerning mind that Edo State has gone on wrong path of development with the elitist style of governance with little regard to reality.
“Therefore, with the greatest respect and utmost humility, I appeal to the conscience of all our esteemed leaders who contested the primary election with Senator Monday Okpebholo, to kindly put the contest behind them, and join hands with the party’s candidate in the onerous task of making the Heartbeat of the nation beat again with sectoral developments across the broad spectrum of human endeavour.”
Mr Inegbe noted that despite the initial minor differences between Distinguished Senator Adams Oshiomhole and his colleague, Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo, at the cause of the primary election, Senator Oshiomhole remains Senator Okpebholo’s leader and believes that Senator Oshiomhole as the leader of APC in Edo State will play a critical role in securing victory for the party in the incoming governorship election.
He further noted that Senator Monday Okpebholo is poised toward creating a new Edo of our collective dream and aspiration, and therefore urged every member of APC and well-meaning Edolites to support the APC flag-bearer to take Edo State back from mercantile Portharcout and Lagos politicians that’ve lay siege on Osadabe Avenue in the past seven years.
